School counselors would collect hair samples for testing of marijuana, cocaine, and ecstasy use. Students testing positive for drug use will meet with parents and school officials, but would not be disciplined. \u201cThen it\u2019s up to the parents to work something out with the kid,\u201d said Principal Joseph Schmidt. However, he said a second positive test could result in suspension or expulsion.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-family: Verdana;\"><span style=\"color: #000099;\"><span>\u00a0Reaction to the mandatory drug tests has been mixed among students. \u201cThe majority are against it,\u201d\u00a0 said Steven Rohlf, a senior at the school. \u201cA lot of people have a privacy problem. I believe we benefit much more than its bad.\u201d Many of the students parents support the testing program. \u201cAs a parent, it\u2019s a great thing,\u201d said Rose Mayerbock, mother of a St. Patrick junior. \u201cThere are parents that don\u2019t necessarily realize that their child could be on something. For me, one of my biggest fears is if they are on drugs and alcohol.
