Does marijuana kill brain cells?

There have been reports of several young men who were heavy users of marijuana suffering strokes.  In the case of a 30-year old white male who admitted to smoking large quantities of marijuana in tobacco cigarettes on a daily basis over many years, the stroke symptoms included tingling and numbness in his right arm and side and severe speech disturbance.  The tingling and numbness subsided within one hour, but the speech disturbance was more prolonged. Some studies show that components of marijuana smoke adversely affect cytoskeletal components in some cells.
