A study has been published entitled ‘Mental health of teenagers who use cannabis, Results of an Australian survey,’. The Australian researchers concluded “Cannabis use is very prevalent [in Australia]. The Association with depression, conduct problems, excessive drinking and use of other drugs shows a malignant pattern of comorbidity that may lead to negative outcomes”.
According to the study 46% of 17-year-old males and 38% of 17-year-old females had smoked cannabis. “Adolescents who reported having used cannabis were much more likely to report drinking alcohol, smoking cigarettes and to have tried other drugs.
